Rekindle is a fictional candle brand I created as part of a design project focused on packaging and brand storytelling. The concept was inspired by a personal moment — I found myself wishing for a candle that smelled like an indoor swimming pool. That oddly specific idea turned into a creative exercise: how could a candle brand capture the feeling of nostalgia through scent and design?

I wanted my candle brand to have a serene and simplistic feel to it in order to contrast my prior more bold projects.
Wordmark
Once I decided on rekindle, I knew I wanted the dot on the 'i' to resemble a flame. I began messing around with fonts and styles. Using FreightBig Pro Medium with a 3 point stroke, I created the final wordmark.
I initially practiced applying the wordmark on a rectangular tag. I also wanted to incorporate simple graphics that reflected the scents.
Ultimately however I decided to stick with a square tag because I felt it allowed for the graphic to stand out while also having room for the wordmark.
